Bandwidth Based Algorithm
The Bandwidth-Based Algorithm is designed for environments where WAN links come from different ISPs or technologies and have unequal speeds, which is common in both mobility and fixed broadband deployments.
- 7G Fuse continuously measures real-time upload and download bandwidth on every WAN link
- Users can define whether:
- Highest Bandwidth First (maximize throughput), or
- Lowest Bandwidth First (preserve high-capacity links for critical traffic)
- Bandwidth priority can be applied independently for upload and download
Each WAN interface is assigned a dynamic weight based on:
- Available bandwidth
- Direction (uplink vs downlink)
- User-defined policy preferences
This ensures:
- Faster links naturally carry more traffic
- Slower links are not overloaded
- Total WAN capacity is fully utilized without congestion Best suited for:
Best suited for:
- Multi-ISP deployments
- Mixed-speed WAN environments
- Branch offices and mobility devices with multiple cellular links
