Standalone Mode

Internet Load Balancer

Set your WAN connection in auto configurable mode, plug-in internet connections to 7G-Fuse appliance and let the device distribute internet traffic traffic amongst all the available internet connection intelligently.
In Standalone or Load balancer mode, all the internet connection will be terminated onto 7G-Fuse appliance. once all the connections are operational, each session from user will be distributed amongst all the WAN links intelligently. If any of the link goes down, a seamless transitions of user traffic will happen on to remaining / available WAN connection
Standalone / Load balancer mode can be configured in 4 different algorithms, each algorithm is responsible for treating the out-bound traffic in the following ways,
Session Based Load Balancing (DEFAULT)
Weight-age Based Load Balancing
Metric Based Load Balancing
Policy Based Load Balancing

Load Balancing Algorithms

Metric Based

Greater Metric = Link Standby

  • All the primary internet links will be active.
  • If the user wants to keep couple of WAN link on standby then,
    1. Lesser metric value will be assigned to active links
    2. Greater metric value will be assigned to the standby links
    3. Session generating from LAN will be distributed amongst the active WAN links (lesser metric)
    4. Standby link to come up in case of all active links failure
  • Explained in figure, 2 link assigned with “1” metric whereas other 2 assigned with “2” metric therefore one will greater metric get online only when others are offline.

Weight Based

Greater Weight = Greater Traffic

  • All the available internet links will be active.
  • If the user wants to route more traffic on a specific WAN links than the others then
    1. Greater weight value will be assigned with greater bandwidth
    2. Session generating from LAN will be distributed amongst the WAN links according to the weight ratio defined for each WAN link
    3. A link with higher weight ratio weight will carry more session than the lesser once.
  • Explained in diagram, if there are 11 user sessions then the WAN link with metric 5 will carry 5 session , metric 3 carry 3 session and metric will carry 2 sessions each

Policy Based

Policy Created = Interested Traffic

  • All the available internet links will be active.
  • If the user wants to route traffic on to specific WAN interface / group of interfaces then,
    1. Groups will be created with WAN links associated to it,
    2. Policies will be created to route the traffic to specific groups created in previous step,
    3. Once the routing policy is created, only the traffic matching to the policy will be able to utilize the binded WAN links against the policy,
  • As explained in diagram, 1st link is assigned to VIP’s users, 2nd to admin users and rest 2 for guest network internet traffic.
