How 7G-Fuse speed-test calculates above mentioned parameters?
Data Stream & Multithreading
It sends and receives huge chunks of parallel data or streams to global speed-test servers. It operates on a multithreaded mechanism, where multiple streams of data transmission is initiated from 7G Fuse to maximize the utilization of each WAN connection .While the speed-test is running, the module monitors bytes transmitted as well as received on each WAN interface
Sampling
Once the test is completed, for a single WAN interface, number of per second samples are achieved in database. If there are 20 samples created, the first 2 samples and the 2 two samples are discarded . Remaining samples 16 sample will be averaged to give the average download and upload value of interface From legit samples ( 16 samples ), highest upload and download value is picked for peak values of interface
Results
Once the processing of all the WAN interfaces are completed, the average download upload value of all interfaces are added for combined or aggregate bandwidth All the values calculated are directly fetched from kernel level in order to achieve precision. Each speed-test results are stored in 7G-Fuse database therefore at any given time administrator can easily compare current speed-test with previous speed-test results.
